Kanye West got the attention he wanted after he and his models rocked "White Lives Matter" shirts during his surprise fashion show in Paris this week. Now he's facing backlashed from critics and fellow artists like Boosie Badazz and others.
On Monday, October 3, the rapper and author blasted Ye for embracing the slogan born from hate on the apparel featured during his surprise YZY Season 9 fashion show in Paris. The models in the show, including Lauryn Hill's daughter Selah Marley, wore the shirts with the controversial phrase on the back. Boosie saw the clothing as "disrespectful" and reminded him of the time when he said George Bush doesn't care about Black people in 2004.
â@kanyewest AFTER ALL WE BEEN THROUGH AS A RACE YOU PUT THIS DISRESPECTFUL S**T ON!!" Boosie wrote on Twitter. "U GIVES NO F**KS ABOUT HOW BLACKS HAVE DIED N SUFFERED TO THE HANDS OF THE WHITE MAN N U SAY BUSH DONâT LIKE BLACK PEOPLEâŠREALLY N***A.â
"DAM @kanyewest U JUST GOING TO KEEP USING YOUR PLATFORM TO S**T ON YOUR OWN RACE LIKE THIS đ€·đŸââïž THIS SAD âŒïž" Boosie continued in another tweet. "N the black people who still support you r even sadder âŒïž LAST TIME SPEAKING ON THIS đ€Ą #Kanyewestdoesntlikeblackpeople DO US A FAVOR N BLEACH YOUR SKIN ALL WHITE âŒïžThanks."
Boosie wasn't the only artist who had a negative reaction to Ye's outrageous t-shirt. Commentators like Van Lathan and Marc Lamont Hill denounced the apparel Jaden Smith was apparently at the show and claimed that he left once he saw the shirts.
âI canât stand behind what Kanyeâs saying, he does not have the full support of the youth,â he wrote in a now-deleted tweet. âBlack Lives Matter. I donât care who it is if I donât feel the message Iâm out.â
