Why Have The Bees Disappeared In Los Angeles?

Have you noticed there hasn't been a lot of bees flying around lately? I honestly don't remember when was the last time I seen one of those suckers buzzing around my head or amongst the flowers.

I mentioned the absence of bees to some friends and everyone has noticed the same thing. The insects we once hated have left a huge void in our ecosystem. After some research I learned that my suspicions were correct. Bees are in fact disappearing and it has a lot to do with toxic pesticides creating habitat loss. According to Action News 5, climate change, invasive species and more also factors.

Yes it is nice to not be stung while taking a walk in the park, but having no bees around could end up being a terrible situation for our planet. If plants are no longer getting pollinated, bottom line is we don't eat. As a result our ecosystem will collapse. Didn't know those little creatures were so valuable, huh?
