Liam Payne passed away in October 2024 without leaving a will, and two individuals have since been authorized to manage his estate.
According to new court documents obtained by People, the "Strip The Down" star's ex, Cheryl Cole, mother to his 8-year-old son Bear, and music industry lawyer Richard Mark Bray, will "oversee" Payne's estate.
Per the document, the late singer's assets are worth $32.2 million "after debts and expenses." A "general grant" still needs to be made for Cole and Bray to have complete access to the estate, as they currently maintain "limited authority," which voids the power to "distribute any funds from the estate," per E!News.
Payne fell to his death from a third-story hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 16, 2024, leaving behind Bear, his parents Geoff and Karen, his sisters Nicola and Ruth, his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, his friends, and Directioners across the globe.
A toxicology report revealed that the hitmaker had several drugs in his system when he passed away.
The "Teardrops" icon was laid to rest during an intimate funeral service in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, England, in November, at which his former bandmates, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, and Zayn Malik were present.
