Former actress Amanda Bynes whom you’ll remember from her Nickelodeon days has been put on a “5150 psychiatric hold” after being found off her medications, nude, and wandering the streets of L.A. You may be thinking J.R. what exactly is a 5150 psychiatric hold? I was thinking the same thing and did some digging for you. Basically, a 5150 hold is a legal way to hold someone against their will in California for up to a full three days if they are thought to be a danger to themselves or others because of mental illness.
